I live in Weathersfield, Vermont with my husband, two young children, and our black lab.  I grew up in Charlotte, Vermont and received my undergraduate degree at Middlebury College.  I went on to complete my Master’s degree at the University of Vermont in Communication Sciences.  I worked in the Springfield School District as a speech language pathologist for 7 years before starting at CAES.  I am very excited to be working at CAES providing speech and language services. This school reminds me very much of the elementary school that I attended growing up.

I have worked with children ever since I started my working life as a young adolescent babysitting for my neighbors’ children.  I have worked as a camp counselor and have had a variety of clinical and teaching internships. Working with children continues to be my passion, and I appreciate the joy and sense of wonder that they bring with them every day!

802-875-6860I have been an educator in southern Vermont for over twenty years, working with children from grades PK-8 as a teacher, instructional coach, interventionist, and administrator. Although I find every age and position has its charms, being in the classroom with younger students is my favorite gig. I have a B.A. from Carleton College in sociology/anthropology, an M.Ed. from Lesley College in Elementary Education, and an Ed.S. from Simmons College in Language and Literacy Learning. I am currently in a certificate program at Harvard University in Leading School Change.  I live in Springfield where I enjoy tending my garden in the summer, sitting by the woodstove in the winter, and swimming and running all year round.

I am excited to be starting my 10th year as a special educator at Chester-Andover. I am passionate about what I do and I firmly believe all students can succeed. It is my honor and pleasure to serve the students of this community.

I came into education after spending about ten years as a stay-at-home mom when my children were young. During that time I substitute taught at Flood Brook and was drawn into the field of special education through my experiences there. I earned my Master's in Special Education in 2010 and am currently working on my Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies through the TRSU/SNHU partnership. In my first career, I worked as a Registered Dietitian in many settings including acute care, longterm care, outpatient care, and home care. I also worked as the Chief of Nutritional and Dietetics at a teaching hospital in New Hampshire.

I live in Weston in an empty nest with my husband, Malcolm. Our son Ben graduated from Lehigh University with a BS in bioelectrical engineering and is working for a pharmaceutical company in PA. Our daughter Rebekah is getting ready to begin her junior year as a nursing student at Villanova University outside of Philadelphia. In my spare time (?) I love to play music, sing, read, scrapbook, cross-stitch and walk.

I’m delighted to share the joy of reading with my students and help them learn and grow and view themselves as readers.

Prior to becoming the Title Reading Teacher at CAES, I’ve enjoyed 20 years as a classroom teacher.  My graduate education degree is in literacy.

I live in Chester with my husband and daughter, and love being part of this community!  At home, I enjoy reading, gardening, crafting, tending to our family animals (2 dogs, 6 chickens, a parrot and a gecko named Jumpy), and spending time in the forest.
