Amy Hamblett
5/6 Grade Special Educator

I am a special educator working with 5th and 6th grade students during 2013-2014, my fourth year at CAES. I love the community of learners we have in our school and am thrilled to be part of it. I believe that students learn in different ways and that it is my responsibility to facilitate the learning process by meeting each one where he or she is.

Teaching is a second career for me and I love it! In my first career I was a Registered Dietitian. I worked in a teaching hospital in NH and took care of patients in diverse settings such as critical care, long term care and home care. I was also a department manager for a number of years. In 2000, when my children were small, I left work to stay home with them.

In 2008 I returned to school to earn my teaching degree in special education and I have been at CAES since 2010.

I live in Weston with my husband Malcolm, my son Ben, who is a senior in high school, and my daughter Rebekah, who is in ninth grade. During my spare time I love to read, knit, scrapbook, and play my flute.
